FAQ
Questions come up. Here are the ones I hear most. If yours isn't here, ask in the free consult.
Before you start
What happens in the free consult?
A 15-minute conversation about what you're looking for, so we can decide together whether we're a good fit. No pressure, no pitch.
Do I have to attend the group sessions?
No. They're there when you want them.
Who I work with
Do you only work with women?
No. Single sessions and the concierge membership are open to all individuals. I also work with adolescents, and with Organizations that want to understand and support their teams.
Do you work with adolescents?
Yes. Teens don't need an hour of sitting across from an adult being asked how they feel. Sessions with adolescents are typically shorter, and the work is practical: managing big emotions, handling stress, sorting out whose expectations are whose, and building connection beyond the screen. Common reasons teens come in include social stress, anxiety, substance use, and mindset. Anyone can join the membership, and it can be shared with your family: if a parent signs up, the four sessions can be used by anyone in the family. If it's a good fit, I'll send consent forms to fill out.
Do you work with Organizations?
Yes. The Team Wellbeing Diagnostic is a four-week look at how work is really working for your team. How it works.
Scheduling
What are your hours?
9 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday.
How quickly will I hear back?
Members hear back within 3 hours. Other messages are answered as available within the business day.
What is your cancellation policy?
Single sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at the full session price. Membership sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice are forfeited for that month.
Private pay and insurance
Why are you private pay?
On purpose. It gives ownership of the therapeutic relationship, and of your care, to you. What we do is guided by your needs and my clinical recommendations, not by what an insurance company will approve.
Do I need a diagnosis to start?
No. I don't believe a diagnosis has to be assigned to provide care. Sometimes you need a check-in without a diagnosis following you on your health record.
Do you take insurance?
I don't bill insurance. I'm happy to provide a superbill. If I do, a diagnosis must be assigned to the person receiving services, because insurance companies require one.
Do travel fees apply to members?
As applicable, depending on distance.
